Joel has completed a graduate degree and certificate in Trauma-Informed Counseling and is currently pursuing his PhD. He utilizes an integrative approach in counseling. Joel’s personal experiences have helped in his understanding of the power in human connection and the importance of healthy social support. He believes counseling is a journey of growth and development, that everyone is the author of their own story, and that each journey is different.

He sees the clinician’s role as providing a safe space to empower individuals as they write their own story. His research interests focus on the intersection of neuroscience and counseling, specifically within the adolescent and young adult population.
