DGC’s COVID-19 INITIATIVE
DG Counseling has always tried to foster a warm, therapeutic environment to all clients. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has prompted many businesses and mental health facilities to adjust their approach for care.
“These are stressful times for families and we want everyone in our therapeutic community to know that we’re here for them and that we are taking necessary measures to ensure our clients the safety and care they need,” said Dr. Donna Gluck (EdD), the private practice’s founder and president.
“We care deeply about everyone’s safety and mental health experience so we are consistently in contact checking with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to ensure safety.”
At DG Counseling’s offices in Downer’s Grove, Glen Ellyn and Chicago, clinicians will still be seeing clients in person but also offering virtual sessions via Thera-LINK or FaceTime or Skype if clients feel more comfortable with therapeutic services from home.
Additionally, clinicians are on-call for a coronavirus support line Monday-Friday.
For clients who come to DG Counseling for an in-person session, there are several updates for peace of mind:
- Cleaner space, protocol: DG Counseling offices are taking necessary safety/wellness precautions to maintain a clean and healthy therapeutic environment. All therapists are also washing their hands in-between sessions.
- Waiting room etiquette: Clients are encouraged to wait in their car if it feels more comfortable and clinicians are being extra diligent as to not have clients gathering in the waiting room area.
- Social distancing: Clients and clinicians will have a proper distance during services to assure clients’ wellbeing.
