Q: How long are counseling sessions?
A: Most counseling sessions last for 55 minutes. The first session may last a little longer as there is paperwork to complete. We try to schedule our clients to ensure confidentiality. However, there may be times when you may encounter other clients in the waiting area.

Q: How will I know which counselor will be the best fit for me?
A: We believe that you, as a consumer, deserve the highest quality and the best fit. Counseling is not likely to be successful if the client and therapist do not connect well. We strive for success for our clients. In an effort to match clients to the therapists most likely to be a good fit, we offer the first counseling session free of charge. If the client feels it is a good fit, and wants to continue working with this therapist, there is still no charge for the first session. If the client feels it is not a good fit, we will gladly refer to another therapist within DGC, or to other professionals in the area.

Q: What if I need to reschedule an appointment? What if I am going to be late?
A: Our policy is that clients can call within
24 hours of the scheduled session to cancel their appointment without incurring a charge. If the client does not call within 24 hours,
50% of the session fee will be due (except in case of emergency in which case the client will not incur a charge). The 50% charge is not reimbursable by insurance.
Arriving late for an appointment and rescheduling are subject to the individual therapist's discretion. Our policy can be explained in more detail in the first session. If you are going to be late, or are not sure you can keep your appointment, please call your therapist as soon as possible.
